A native of Russia, Mr. Miropolsky has conducted in many countries around the world and served as principal violinist with the Moscow State Symphony. “Maestro Miropolsky brings a wealth of experience and a depth of understanding of classical music that will propel the Bellevue Philharmonic to new artistic heights,” stated Daniel Y. Mayer, Interim Executive Director.
Weekend of Music A great Weekend of Music is ahead for the region’s music lovers. Renowned American composer-conductor AARON JAY KERNIS is the featured star on the podium of the Bellevue Philharmonic Orchestra Nov. 22-23, when he leads the orchestra in his own “Musica Celestis for Strings,” as part of a MASTERWORKS SERIES program in the Meydenbauer Center Theater.
Concertmaster John Kim appointed Interim Music Director The Bellevue Philharmonic Orchestra announced today the appointment of John Kim as interim music director. Kim, the orchestra's concertmaster since 2004 and one of the Northwest's leading violinists, will take over November 14th for current resident conductor, Fusao Kajima, while the orchestra and its board of directors search for Kajima's successor. Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO) will present the first concerts in its
Little Maestro Series, titled "Cirque de Classic: Hi-Low Big Top Circus"
with performances at 2:00 and 3:30 pm at the Theatre at Meydenbauer. Bellevue Philharmonic Hires New Executive Director/CEO, Jennifer McCausland. January, 2008 - After an extensive nationwide search, Jennifer McCausland
has joined the Bellevue Philharmonic as Executive Director/CEO. "We are
very excited to welcome Jennifer to the Bellevue Philharmonic as CEO. She
brings a rare combination of leadership skills, business acumen, experience
in the classical music world, and a deep passion for music performance.
With Jennifer’s leadership the orchestra will continue to grow in significance
in the cultural life of Bellevue and the Eastside," says Board President,
Paul Garner. Maestro Fusao Kajima also shares his praise of the new director:
"I am delighted to have Jennifer on board with us. She will bring an enormous
energy, focus and sharp business skills to our organization. It will be
a truly exciting time ahead of us." Bellevue Philharmonic Ends Record-Breaking Year; Attendance And Contributions At All-Time High. July 1, 2006 - The
Bellevue Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO) ended the 2005-2006 concert season
and fiscal year on June 30th, having achieved record-breaking ticket sales
and contributions. At the recent annual meeting, CEO Lawrence
J. Fried reported on the highlights of the past year. In making the announcement,
Fried said: "We are extremely gratified by the community’s response to the
Bellevue Philharmonic. This unprecedented year of growth confirms that our
entire Eastside community - individuals, corporations and foundations -
has embraced the BPO and has encouraged us to expand our concert season
next year." Bellevue Philharmonic Announces Microsoft Sponsorship; Software Giant To Provide Two Years Of Support. May 31, 2006 - The Bellevue Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO)
has received a two-year sponsorship from the Microsoft Corporation, beginning
with the 2006-20087 concert season. Microsoft will be the "Season Guest
Artist Sponsor" for the BPO’s Masterworks@Meydenbauer concert series.
